Data Import Engine

The FirstClass Data Import Engine is a powerful tool that can be purchased as an optional extra to the FirstClass program.

It allows data to be loaded directly into the FirstClass database from a number of data sources including ASCII text files, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Access databases. Each data migration routine is fully configured using the FirstClass Data Import Specification options. Once configured these routines can be run on a regular basis, whenever a new data file is ready to be loaded.

Examples of routines used by different charities include:
  • Routines to load data from telesales companies providing updated information on existing pledgers and data on new pledgers
  • Routines to load statistical data to update the estimated values of pledgers
  • Routines to load data to update address data previously exported from FirstClass and run through batch address cleaning software routines.
