Links to Supporter Systems

FirstClass Links

In 2004, we installed links between FirstClass and a supporter database for Barnardos. Since then we have developed links between FirstClass and the CARE and Raiser’s Edge supporter databases.

Our links to other databases are individually configured for each individual charity, but they all provide the same functionality enabling the user to use FirstClass to search their supporter database when adding new legators and pledgers.

If a match is found, FirstClass can automatically create a new record in the FirstClass database, using data from the linked supporter database.

Additionally, an extra tab on the pledger and legator forms can be configured to display live data from the supporter database. The data to be displayed on this tab is specified by each individual charity. Hence, for example, data about the person’s name, address, present status and donation history can be displayed here.

We have also developed a number of automatic export routines to provide data for a range of different supporter and accounting packages. Some of these routines are used to export data to be loaded into CARE and Raiser’s Edge. This can include data on new legators, data on changes made to existing legator records as well as data on new legacy income.
