Why Use FirstClass
FirstClass provides instant access to information
Many legacies are complex and require substantial amounts of chasing before
their value is actually realised. When dealing with executors and associated
charities it is important that you have all the appropriate information in
front of you. If that information is held on pieces of paper and in files (or
in a system that does not organise the data properly), it can take some time to
get the information together.

FirstClass allows you to build a complete contact history for a case: summaries
of telephone conversations, details of documents sent and received, emails sent
and received (you can email directly from within FirstClass), faxes sent and
received. Actions can be programmed as reminders so that you don’t forget to
make important calls. All the information you need is in front of you, when you
need it.
Important information can be shared
Do you frequently get calls from people in your charity asking about legacies?
Why not let them have access to that information via FirstClass? You can decide
who has access to FirstClass, and what they can do once they are in the system.
You could, for example, give a colleague in the finance department permission
to run the financial reports or someone in legacy marketing could have access
to research data.
You can check on workloads
For the larger legacy earning charities, FirstClass enables you to allocate
cases to case handlers, and to review cases by case handler. You can see who’s
doing what at any time, how many cases have been opened and closed in any
period, and the value of these cases.
Your data is safe and secure
FirstClass uses Microsoft SQL Server as its back-end database. This is a
proven, reliable and secure environment for your data.
FirstClass enables you to work more efficiently
Don’t rely on post-it notes to remind you about case reviews. The diarised
review system within FirstClass is central to how the system operates. You can
set up reviews (reminders) for each legacy. Each time you start FirstClass you
are notified of all reviews that are due (and overdue). FirstClass can be
configured to automatically create reviews when new cases are added to the
system or when new income is entered.
With FirstClass you know where your money is coming from
With FirstClass you can keep track of your income, both expected and realised. You

Electronic data from Smee and Ford can be loaded automatically
FirstClass accepts electronic data from Smee and Ford, greatly speeding up the
input of data about your new legacies and quickly updating your data about
existing legacies.
You can use FirstClass to look after your pledgers
Use FirstClass to help you to build and maintain a relationship with your
pledgers. A system of reviews and a full contact history is available for
pledgers in the same way as it is for legators. FirstClass has the facility to
work with the pledger information using a wide range of selection criteria,
producing data that can be exported into another application or used to create
a Word mail merge.
