Web Development

These case studies highlight just a sample of the web systems we
have written and installed for our clients.
Whether you need a similar system - or a solution tailored to your own unique
needs - we are sure we can help. Whatever your requirements, please give us a
call and we’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
Order Tracking For A Telecommunications Company
To facilitate a more efficient way of tracking orders for the client, we wrote
and installed a system that could be easily rolled out for desktop use. The
system was developed with an Internet Explorer front-end to a SQL Server
back-end. It allowed users throughout the company to use the internet for
simple, rapid checking and updating of all orders on the companys system.
Sales Prospects For A Telecommunications Company
The client company needed to record the sales prospects in various regions
around the world for a particular piece of technology. The system we developed
allocated each customer region a particular status and built up a comprehensive
economic and social picture of the region. Users were presented with a world
map which allowed them to "drill-down" into regions and then countries to
access the interactive database of information about customer prospects. The
system was written with an Internet Explorer front end and an SQL-Server
database at the backend. Although based in the UK, the system could be accessed
around the world.
Web Development Of A Telephone Number System
The client required a web-based solution as part replacement for a successful
desktop order processing system for telephone numbers that has seen constant
development over the years. Since the number of customers requiring remote
access had grown so significantly, it was vital to eliminate the need to
install and configure a desktop application. The secure web-based system
Clearwater introduced now enables the user base to continue to grow with no
need for client visits for installations. It also has the major benefit of
allowing existing customers to access their accounts from any computer with an
internet connection and a web browser. A customer creates an order, lists all
the telephone numbers required and submits the order. Once completed, the
system exports a list of completed orders to a telecoms switching platform for
fulfilment. Customers can track current orders from entry to completion, review
previous orders and search for specific orders and telephone numbers. Customer
and site details can be added and amended, while the system also includes
message boards and warnings about current orders.
Web Development For A Mail Order Company
A company selling sports books direct to the customer required a software
solution to synchronise its office database serving its online ordering system.
The order tracking application was in constant use but unfortunately the hosted
database behind the website had no updating mechanism. Records were being
updated manually every week or two, which was unacceptable. Clearwater solved
the problem by developing a tool to link into the desktop application and
connect the two databases, comparing their respective contents and updating the
website database as necessary. The process would run as required to ensure the
two databases were virtually always synchronised and that the website data
would be as live as that in the office.
Our own Intranet
After reviewing a number of our internal company systems, we decided to link
them all together via a new company intranet. The beauty of our intranet is
that we can use it not to only interrogate existing office systems but also to
record and view data from its own database.
